10 versions, each with its own answer key
Same skill and layout, a fresh set of problems in every version, so children can keep practicing without repeating a page. Problems are not repeated between versions unless a skill has only a small number of possible problems (for example, the addition facts within 10).

About this worksheet
Fifth graders are expected to multiply multi-digit whole numbers fluently with the standard algorithm. Multiplying a three-digit number by a two-digit number brings together everything students have learned about multiplication: basic facts, place value, regrouping, and adding partial products. This fifth-grade worksheet gives twelve problems, each with a three-digit factor from 102 to 999 and a two-digit factor from 12 to 99.
The problems are written in vertical form with plenty of room below each one for partial products. No factor ends in zero, so every problem needs two full rows of partial products and an addition step at the end. Products range up to five digits. The ten versions never repeat a problem, so students can keep practicing with fresh sets.
How to use it: walk through one example together. First multiply the top number by the ones digit of the bottom number. Then write a zero in the ones place to hold the place, and multiply by the tens digit. Finally, add the two partial products. Remind students to cross out or erase regrouped digits from the first row before starting the second, so the small numbers do not get mixed up. Estimating first is a quick check: 487 × 32 is about 500 × 30, or 15,000, so an answer of 1,558 or 155,840 is clearly off.
The answer key lists every product. This worksheet supports Common Core standard 5.NBT.B.5 (fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm).
