About this worksheet

Once students are comfortable with the 2s through 5s, the 6s, 7s, 8s, and 9s are the next big fluency goal. This third-grade worksheet offers 30 mixed multiplication problems using factors 6, 7, 8, and 9, with the other factor from 0 to 10. Factors appear in both orders so students practice the commutative property, and a few facts with 0 or 1 are included so students remember those simple patterns.

These facts take more practice for many children. Helpful strategies include using a known fact and adjusting (6 × 7 is 5 × 7 plus one more 7), doubling for the 8s (8 × 6 is double 4 × 6), and the nines finger trick or the pattern that digits in a nine fact add to nine.

How to use it: warm up with a few facts your child already knows, then let them work. Circle any missed facts and turn them into a short daily review list of five or fewer. Drawing a quick array can help when a fact will not stick. Accuracy comes before speed; once answers are reliable, short timed practice can build automaticity.

Each version practices the same skill with a fresh set of problems, so children can keep practicing without repeating a page they have already done. Problems are not repeated between versions unless a skill has only a small number of possible problems (for example, the addition facts within 10).
